The World Bank.

The World Bank is an international financial institution which provides loans to its member states for capital programmes. Its motto is ‘Working for a World Free of Poverty’, and the World Bank has definitely done a great deal in working towards that aim. However, the institution has attracted controversy surrounding its promotion of structural adjustment programmes and the dominance of highly developed Western states in its governance structures. Indeed, the United States has provided every single President of the World Bank in the history of the institution).

Meet your chairs

Stefan Bogensberger

Hi! I am Stefan, currently in my Second Year of my BSc at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). I was born in Brussels, grew up in Vienna, and this background has gained me a passion for cultural exchanges, visiting no less than 98 UNESCO World Heritage Sites to date. I’ve participated at abundant MUN conferences all around the world, both as a Chair and Delegate. I also currently serve as President of the LSE Students’ Union United Nations Society.

Prior to attending LSE, I worked as a paramedic at the Red Cross. When I’m not busy reading Dostoyevsky, Hemingway, or the UN Charter, I spend my time on time on skis traversing through crevasses of powder snow.

Honourable delegates,

Nice to meet you! My name is Dvir Spinka, I’m 24 years old and am currently pursuing my BA in History, Philosophy, and Humanities.I have been doing college level MUN for two years now, but I have also done MUN throughout high school.During the last two years (and of course beforehand during my high school years), I have chaired and delegated in numerous conferences, both nationally and internationally.

BTW, this OxiMUN will be my first OxiMUN ever, so as you can imagine, I’m quite excited J. In addition to both chairing and delegating experience, I’ve also had the privilege to take part in one of my country’s international conference (HolylandMUN) as the Director of Communications and Foreign Affairs and a member of the Secretariat.

MUN is one of my biggest passions in life, ergo I consider it a privilege to serve as your committee director along with the talented Stefan, and I hope we will all experience fun, enriching, prolific conference.

All the best and I hope to see you all very soon!

Dvir Spinka.
