Secretary-General
Megan Robb
Hello all, and welcome to OxIMUN 2009! My name is Megan Robb, and I am studying for an M.Phil in Modern South Asian Studies at Wolfson College. Originally from the United States, I completed my undergraduate degree at Indiana University, spending my third year of college as a visiting student at Corpus Christi College in Oxford. I have been involved in Model UN since 2002, participating in several conferences in high school. I first became involved in OxIMUN as a delegate in the Human Rights Committee in 2006. I was Secretary of Staff on the OxIMUN 2007 Secretariat, reviving and co-editing the OxIMUN conference newsletter Inspire. Conferences I have attended include WorldMUN 2007 in Geneva and WorldMUN 2009 in The Hague. In my spare time I row with the Wolfson College Boat Club, try to keep up with the swift pace of current affairs, and write whenever I can. I am extremely excited to be back at Oxford and heading up preparations for OxIMUN 2009! I can't wait to meet you in October.

Deputy Secretary-General of Logistics
Chris Leigh
Hi, I'm Chris, your Deputy Secretary-General of Logistics. At OxIMUN I will be a third-year History and Politics student at Trinity College. My tasks for the conference include booking committee venues in a variety of central Oxford colleges, sorting out delegate guides and delegate packs, and generally helping the conference run as smoothly as possible. I have been to a number of conferences, including Harvard, Warwick and Cambridge. I am also a devout Trekkie, which is no surprise given the committee I chaired at OxIMUN 2008, the Space Commission! I am also an avid player of RPG's such as Dungeons and Dragons. I hope you enjoy OxIMUN 2009!

Deputy Secretary-General of Staff
Douglas Pivnichny
Hey! My name is Douglas and I am a third year PPEist at Brasenose College. I am also President of the Oxford University United Nations Association this fall term. I have been involved in MUN for six years now and have been to many conferences, including OxIMUN 2008 where I, as Crisis Director, nuked Boston. As the DSG for Personnel at OxIMUN this year, I am responsible for recruiting and training chairs. I also had a hand in creating the Canadian Crisis, which will be thoroughly enjoyable! If you have a problem with your chair, please let me know. Outside of MUN, I enjoy watching television, the company of friends, and following the local politics of my home state, New Jersey (best state in the US; don't let anyone tell you otherwise). I can't wait to meet you all and see how your committees turn out this October!

Deputy Secretary-General of Communications
Elif Yildirimcan
Hi everyone! I'm Elif, currently a fresher doing Human Sciences (a combination of Genetics, Sociology, Anthropology, Demography, Physiology, etc.) at Somerville College. I'm Turkish and came to the UK last October. I did the International Baccalaureate in high school. I have been participating in MUN for about 4 years now and truly have enjoyed every single conference! I attended many international and national conferences in high school, both as a delegate and a chair. In OxIMUN 2009, as the Deputy Secretary-General of Communications, my responsibilities include helping Megan with registration, replying to enquiries, arranging accommodation for you and finding sponsorship. So, I'll be in touch about everything and anything promptly! Aside from my duties as a student and a member of the Secretariat, I row, read, play the piano and travel. Looking forward to meeting you all in October!

Treasurer
George Harnett
Hi, I am George Harnett, Treasurer for OxIMUN 2009. I keep track of accounts and make sure that we spend our money wisely in preparation for our excellent conference. I will be a third-year historian at Balliol College during OxIMUN. Having chaired the Crisis Committee at OxIMUN last year, as well as participating in WarMUN for the past two years, and the WorldMUN crisis committee, I do enjoy a good crisis. This year I am enjoying working behind the scenes to make OxIMUN 2009 our best conference yet, and although my job is, for once, preventing a crisis I hope to make a guest appearance in the Crisis Committee over the weekend... Crisis delegates beware.

Social Events Secretary
Ana Patwardhan
Hey everyone! My name is Ana and I am the Social Events Secretary for OxIMUN 2009. During OxIMUN I will be a third year studying law at Somerville College and have been involved with Model UN for 8 years. I am also an avid reader, enjoy traveling and foreign cultures (I have lived in six countries, have dual nationality, and am of mixed background!), playing the piano and violin, and eating good food! As Social Events Secretary, I take care of the "lighter side" of the weekend's events: namely committee dinners, the club night and Global Village. I look forward to meeting you all at OxIMUN 2009! |

Secretary of Logistics
Li Ashrov
Greetings OxIMUNers, I'm Li Ashrov, a first year Human Scientist at Somerville College and this year's Secretary of Logistics. OxIMUN 2009 will be my 9th MUN conference; I am a former Executive Committee member of the East African MUN and have attended the South African, London International and WorldMUN Conferences. The job of Secretary of Logistics was created to support the DSG in all manners logistical. Ensuring that the conference runs flawlessly is our aim, and the logistics team strives to make sure there are a minimum number of mishaps so that YOU as delegates can function to the best of your abilities - during debating and partying alike! |

Secretary of Logistics
Sam Willis
Hi, I'm Sam, and I am in my first year doing Maths at St. Peter's College. I am an active MUNer though I have an almost disturbing tendency to choose to be Monaco and spend the whole time yelling that all countries are equal... I'm the Deputy Secretary for Logistics which means I do whatever needs to be done, which hasn't been done yet. I spend my time playing frisbee and in the John Wesley Society (google it; if hit by a flying disc or a flying bible it wasn't necessarily my fault...). I hope you enjoy OxIMUN, because I certainly intend to! |

Secretary of Communications
Rob Peters
Hi! I'm Rob and during OxIMUN will be in my second year at Lady Margaret Hall reading History and Politics. This will be my first OxIMUN and I cannot wait! As I am the Secretary of Communications, if you have any questions, feel free to fire them my way and I will do my best. On top of the Oxford University United Nations Association (OUUNA) my other interests include both UK national and youth politics, tennis, karate, reading, traveling and exploring. Endlessly enthusiastic, always outgoing and occasionally witty (my attempts can be funny!) I am looking forward to meeting lots of people at OxIMUN. This conference should be awesome - I hope you enjoy it!

Oxford University United Nations Association President Hilary Term 2009
Shaan Gandhi
Hello, and welcome to OxIMUN 2009! My name is Shaan Gandhi, and I am a third-year postgraduate pursuing a DPhil in medical oncology at Magdalen College. Although I'm a scientist by formal training (my undergraduate degree was in biochemistry from Case Western Reserve University in the United States), my interests are quite varied, from United Nations governance to global trade. Beyond my chairing and Secretariat duties, I row, play a somewhat respectable game of cricket, and explore the British countryside when I get a spare moment.

Hello, welcome to OxIMUN 2009! My name is Laura Chen, and I am a third-year studying English at Wadham College. I am the OUUNA President for Trinity term, and as such will contribute to necessary planning for OxIMUN. In addition, I act as a liaison between the OxIMUN Secretariat and the greater United Nations Association, to make sure we are all on the same page. I wish you the best of luck with your preparations for OxIMUN 2009!
